Nuke-Con Auction 2009
Sell your stuff!

We know all gamers hide a secret stash of rare and wonderful treasurers. Why not turn all that gamer swag into cold hard cash? Disarm all your traps and lock up the horrible creatures guarding your hoard. Turn your used games and miniatures into cash so you can buy new games and miniatures! If you can’t bear to part with your swag, get some more at the Nuke-Con Auction. Find that cool game or mini you’ve been looking for at a great price.

WHAT KIND OF ITEMS CAN YOU PLACE IN THE AUCTION?
•Board Games like: Civilization, Diplomacy, Settlers of Cataan
•Miniatures like: 40k minis, D&D minis, historical minis
•RPGs and supplements like: D&D, various Handbooks, Call of Cthulhu
•Card Games like: Mag Blast, Munchkin, Res Publica, large lots of CCG cards

WHAT KINDS OF ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE AUCTION?
•Weapons of any kind, game-related, blunt, or not!
•Console or PC games
Remember, Nuke-Con is a Family Con!

HOW DOES THE AUCTION WORK
The Nuke-Con auction is a silent auction. That means you may bid at your convenience at any time before the end of the auction. Lots will be set out as they are registered so you can peruse the lots. Lots may be placed in the auction up until 6:00 pm Saturday. To place a bid, you simply write your badge number, name, and bid amount on the bid sheet corresponding to the lot you’re interested in. Be sure to ask any questions about the lots you are interested in before you bid. You are responsible for your bid and they may not be retracted. All auction lots will have a starting bid decided upon by the seller and bids may only increase by even dollar amounts. Be sure to check on the auction items you’re interested in throughout the convention because you may be outbid more than once. Some items may have a buyout bid. In the case of a buyout bid the buyer would bring the lot to the auction table and immediately pay the buyout price.

The auction will end promptly at Midnight Saturday night and all bid sheets will be collected. Any items with 3 or more bids will go to the “Live Auction” portion beginning Noon on Sunday. Items will be available for pickup and payment at about 3 on Sunday (depending on how long the auction lasts)

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Options for paying for your purchases include Cash, Con Cash, Check, Credit Card through Paypal or direct Paypal payment.

HOW TO REGISTER A LOT / ITEM
1.Go to the auction room.
2.Pay one dollar for each lot you wish to auction.
3.Get an auction sheet and lot number.
4.Fill out name and badge number.
5.Fill out description..
6.Leave lots at auction table.
Note: There is no limit on the number of lots you may put up for auction however you will need to repeat this process for each lot.

HOW TO COLLECT YOUR CASH!
1.Wait until the auction is ended.
2.Check to see if your lot is at the auction table. If it is, it hasn’t been sold.
3.Go to the auction table and give them your badge number and name.
4.Pay you auction fee to Nuke-Con
5.Collect your payment.

AUCTION FEES
As you know, putting on a game convention isn’t free. This auction will hopefully provide you with a way to make a little cash and help support Nuke-Con. Sellers will be charged a dollar per lot to have their items in the auction. Note that all lot fees will be paid before registering your lots. A portion of the selling price, to be paid by the seller will go to Nuke-Con. All fees must be paid before the seller can collect his auction money for sold lots. The fee paid to Nuke Con will be 10% of the final selling price.

DONATING YOUR LOTS
If you wish to donate a lot to auction you may donate it to the Nuke-Con charity or Nuke-Con itself. All you have to do is bring your lot to the auction and we’ll take care of the rest. There is no entry fee for lots donated to Nuke-Con or to the Nuke-Con charity.

AUCTION TIMES
The auction will begin Friday 6:00 pm and end Saturday Night at Midnight. All lots must be picked up by 5pm Sunday.

2008 Warhammer 40K Tournament
Was sponsored by…

TSOALR Ad

Dates and Times
October 5th
11am-6pm
Check in 8:30-10am
Arrive no later than 10am, so games may start at 11am

Tournament Specifics:
-Armies may be incomplete in construct and paint but models should be representative.

Example: I may have 8 Dire Avengers without arms or heads but the legs and body are on a base so it at least looks like a Dire Avenger… sort of.

-This is being done to attract newer players and make a tournament that encourages people to actually compete and complete there army.

-Mild proxying is acceptable but please be reasonable. Bases should be size appropriate to the model it would otherwise be representing.

Note: Incomplete builds and paintings will however lower your chance of scoring well in the Painting/Modeling aspect of the Tournament and proxies will disqualify you entirely from the Painting/modeling.

General Rules

  • $10 Entry Fee Fee has been dropped!
    (Thanks to our sponsors!!)
  • 1500 point maximum.
  • Must be completed from a Tournament Legal GW Codex.
  • NO Apocalypse or Forge World rules.
  • Please send Army list to this email ahead
    I3itkingdom@gmail.com

  • Scenarios will be announced at the start of each round.

NEWS: Tournament fee has been dropped, people who have already paid their tourney fee will be refunded the $10

Saturday, October 4th, 2008 10:00am start.
9am-9:45am Registration

2000 points, LATE-WAR, using any force from the V2 official books.

Tournament will be limited to the first 20 players. This is a V2 tournament.

$10 entry fee, which all goes towards NO ENTRY FEE thanks to our sponsors!

Prizes will be awarded in this order Best Overall, Best General, Best Historical, Best Sportsman. If 12 or more players there will also be a Second Overall. If 18 or more, there will be a Third Overall, plus Best Allied and Best Axis.

3 rounds, each with a 2.5 hour time limit. Scenarios might be chosen from those listed in the main rulebook (with the exception of Roadblock), or some variation. Scenarios will be announced the day of the tourney. All players will play the same scenario during each round. Base scoring will be done from the Battlefront Tournament Guidelines. Guide can be found here.

Rules from all published and official V2 FoW material will be used. Special characters are permitted. Any use of unofficial lists from the website must be approved by the Judge(s).

PLEASE bring at least 2 copies of your force list (preferably 3), and background (one for the judge(s) and one for yourself). Also bring templates, dice, measuring tape, and any rules/books/pdf’s relevant to your force. Any Army Builder lists submitted should be checked against the rule books for accuracy. Army Builder errors are the player’s responsibility to check for, not the Judge’s. Any errors found after tourney start will result in a small penalty to your score. PLEASE double-check (and triple-check) your army list before turning it in.

Models do not need to be painted, and do not need to be Battlefront miniatures, BUT they should be WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get). No proxies. Unpainted armies will simply affect your score for the Best Historical and Overall awards. But not for Best General and Best Sportsman. Please note Axis and Allies Miniatures are NOT allowed.

Should you have any disputes during games try to come to a friendly solution (remember we are all going to be there to enjoy ourselves). If you can t agree ask a Judge. All Judges decisions are final. Arguing with a Judge may result in a penalty to your scoring points.

If you have any questions or comments (especially dealing with rule or army issues), please email Rob Hebrew at e1ros@aim.com. Please include FoW in your subject line. The Tourney is limited to the first 20 players. You are advised to sign up in advance (or not, see below).

Please see http://fallout.nuke-con.com...

  • register for the con

  • then enroll in the tournament.

If you DO sign up… please SHOW up. Yes, last-minute emergencies can happen that can prevent you showing. If you DO sign up, and find that you can t make it, then PLEASE let us know in advance.

Those who register via the website have priority to the spots. Walk-ups will be accepted subject to available space.

* This is a Qualifier for the Flames of War National Tournament at Historicon 2009. So if at least 12 players, Best Overall and Best General will receive spots. If 18 or more, then 2nd Overall will also receive a spot.

Special Rules in use

  • Tree models on tree felt represent the height of the trees, so units on hills and in upper floors of buildings “may” be able to see over the stand of trees (WYSIWYG).
  • Normal hedges and walls do NOT block LOS, but provide concealment to all teams seen through them. Walls and hedges taller than the model DO block LOS. (this normally applies only to tall walls or bocage).
  • Hedges do not block LOS (no matter the height of the hedge), but do provide concealment to any unit seen through them.
